You do not have to register to browse this site, but you do need to register to post to the forum or upload.  This is to help protect the site and its users from inappropriate content. 

The only requirement to register is a username and email.   Only your username is visible to other registered users unless you choose otherwise by changing your display settings. The system will ask you to enter your name but you can just enter any character in those fields.
